This weekend I decided to attend the International Students for Liberty Conference.  It was fun, I met some awesome people and attended some very interesting sessions, but overall, it solidified my conservatism. Well, I'm finally here!  I am in DC, ready to start a new adventure!  I love it here and more importantly, I love being able to unpack into an APARTMENT. :) Before After Three suitcases for the whole semester... we will see how long that lasts!  Life in DC is so completely different than living in Kansas or even California.  I love it!  I have three roommates and they are all pretty cool.

Well... it sure has been an eventful couple of weeks!  I am currently in Washington, D.C. attending a conference put on by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI).  Tonight was the first night with an amazing dinner followed by a lecture by the president of AEI, Arthur Brooks.  His whole premise is that all people agree on two basic types of morality: fairness and avoiding harm to the vulnerable.

President Obama looks mad. Well, Obama's done it again!  In the past few days Obama has called Israel to go back to its pre-1967 borders in order to gain peace for Israel as well as solve the Palestinian problem.  These comments were made unbeknownst to Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's current prime minister, the day before he was supposed to come visit with Obama.  I'm sure that just thrilled him.

Well, today was officially day one of my internship.  It was the first day that I was actually able to work for the campaign.  Anyways, yesterday was just a down day that was used in downtown Columbus walking around and getting to know my fellow interns, a worthy time spent indeed.  It was nice having a day off so that I was able to rest a few nights before I actually went out on the campaign.

The results of Steve Scholtz's race is in. It was decided by a coin toss.... and Steve lost. :( I'm disappointed, but so proud!  At the primary, Steve was ahead by four votes.  After counting the provisionals, both candidates were tied, 902 to 902.  It came down to a coin toss, and Dan called tails.  the coin was flipped, and it landed on tails.  So Steve lost because of a coin toss....  It

Ok, sorry it has been so long since I've updated!  Life got hectic with campaigning for four people the weeks before the primary.  So, I will give you a quick run down of the primary results! Good news first: Steve Scholtz won Butler County Commissioner in district five by four votes.  That's right, FOUR votes!  His opponent, was an incumbent who has been involved in local politics since 1989!
